The Dhahran Women’s Group (DWG) is proud of its status as the first, and therefore, the oldest self-directed group of Saudi Aramco. Since 1946, when several of the wives of expatriate workers felt the need to meet and provide activities and events for other women in the community, the DWG has a proud history of serving the Saudi Aramco community.

The DWG has a vibrant and disparate membership drawn from right across the spectrum of nationalities – their only commonality being that either they, or their husbands, work for Saudi Aramco, Dhahran.

As stated in the DWG’s mission statement: “The purpose of the group shall be to offer service to the community, to welcome newcomers, and to sponsor welfare, social, cultural, educational and recreational activities.”
